HMS Berwick, pennant number 65, was a County-class heavy cruiser of the British Royal Navy, part of the Kent subclass. She was built by Fairfield Shipbuilding and Engineering Company, Govan, Scotland, with the keel being laid down on 15 September 1924. She was launched on 30 March 1926 and commissioned 12 July 1927.

HMS Berwick was a merchantman launched in 1780 that the Navy purchased in 1781 to use as an armed supply ship. The Navy repaired in 1786, classified her as a sixth rate , and renamed her HMS Sirius (1786) .

2017年10月9日 · HMS Berwick and HMS Inglefield were ordered to provide cover for the Kong Haakon and the transport and trawler that had sailed earlier. HMS Devonshire sailed at 2000A/15 to provide cover for the Dronning Maud for its onward voyage to Tromsø.

On 11 November 1940, BERWICK escorted the carrier ILLUSTRIOUS in the successful raid against the Italian battle fleet in Taranto harbour. Later that month she also escorted convoys between Egypt and Greece.

HMS Berwick served in the home Fleet 1939 to 1945. Involved in incident with Admiral Hipper where HMS Berwick received a hit from a 8 - inch Shell , luckily it was deflected away form the magazine due to the 4inch magazine armour and the 4.5 inch Belt armour.

2019年9月30日 · On 24 November 1940 Berwick, Formidable and Norfolk were formed into Force K and despatched to Freetown to hunt for Admiral Scheer, but in the event Berwick never actually joined this group.
