The Stasimuseum (also known in German as the Forschungs- und Gedenkstätte Normannenstraße) [2] is a research and memorial centre concerning the political system of the former East Germany.

Das Stasi-Museum befindet sich im Haus 1 auf dem ehemaligen Gelände der Zentrale des Ministeriums für Staatssicherheit (MfS) der DDR. Zu besichtigen ist die neue Ausstellung "Staatssicherheit in der SED-Diktatur". Auf drei Etagen können Sie sich über die Entwicklung, die Funktion und die Arbeitsweise der Staatssicherheit informieren.

In Normannenstraße, to the east of Berlin city centre, you'll find the Stasi Museum, formerly home of the Ministry of State Security. In this building you can discover how the Stasi operates and take a look at their original technology such as bugs, hidden cameras and weapons.

The Stasi Museum offers an extensive range of information about the former Ministry of State Security. You visit the building where the Minister of State Security was stationed. Almost everything has remained intact since the fall of communism around 1990.

The numerous exhibits of the Stasi Museum are a journey into the repressive stranglehold of the police state, the activities of the State Security and aspects of the GDR political system as well as resistance and opposition movements.

House 1 of the former headquarters of the Ministry for State Security (Stasi) now houses a research and memorial center focused on the GDR’s political system.

On two floors, exhibitions organised by the Verein Antistalinistische Aktion (Association of Anti-Stalin Action or ASTAK) and the Stasi Documents Authority, show how the secret police worked and what it meant for their victims. Cameras and microphones hidden in everyday items show how the MfS conducted its spying activities.

Stasi Museum (Berlin) - This is located at Ruschestraße 103, in "Haus 1" on the former Stasi headquarters compound. The office of Erich Mielke, the head of the Stasi, was in this building and it has been preserved along with a number of other rooms. The building was occupied by protesters on 15 January 1990.
